Material needed:

An object to be decorated (wooden box, glass jar, canvas, candle, and more)
Soft brush or sponge
Scissors to cut tissue paper
Matte or glossy varnish for protection
Optional: Stencil, acrylics, distress ink for vintage, aging effect
Step 1: Preparing the surface
If you're using wood → Lightly sand the surface with fine sandpaper to make it smooth.
If you're using glass or a wax finish → Thoroughly clean the surface with alcohol to remove dust and grease.
If the surface is dark → Apply a coat of white gesso to better highlight the tissue paper design.
Step 2: Cutting and attaching the tissue paper
Choose the pattern you want to use and carefully cut it out with scissors or tear it by hand for a more natural look.
Place the tissue paper on the object to see how it looks best.
Step 3: Glueing the tissue paper
Apply a thin layer of glue on the object with a brush.
Gently place the tissue paper onto the object, starting from the center and smoothing outward to avoid air bubbles.
Then, apply another layer of glue over the tissue paper with careful, even strokes to secure it well.
Allow it to dry for at least 1-2 hours.
Step 4: Final finish
If you want to add an aging effect, simply use distress ink or acrylics on the edges.
For greater endurance, spread a varnish layer (mat or glossy, according to your project's style).
Let it dry, and your project is ready!
