Today we're going to present some of the features and techniques the famous Dylusions, designed by Dyan Reaveley for Ranger, have.
If you like art journaling and mixed media techniques then you definitely have already used them 😉, but if you now start experimenting, this blog post is perfect for you! These colors are specially designed for easy blending, dry quickly and permanently thus making them ideal for professional or amateur art journalists & mixed media artists!
So let's find out why these colors are so unique!
- They are creamy but have a slightly semi-translucent finish once applied. This feature is definitely a big plus as it allows you to use and blend multiple colors so as to create the background you want.
- They cover all surfaces - paper, canvas, fabric and even wood!
- They dry very quickly, which makes them ideal for your crafts. You don't have to wait for the first layer to dry before moving on to the next.
- Once dry, they are permanent.
- Also, after drying, these colors do not have any texture. They do not “bleed” on the surface, regardless of the color quantity used. So you can, for example, write on the surface with a marker or pen.
Here are some ideas/suggestions for their use...
Use your fingers
This technique is so entertaining and allows you to have the ultimate control. Apply 2-3 colors with your finger and "work" the mixture afterwards with a baby wipe. The colors will mix but also "fade" creating something unique.
With a brayer tool
Use a stencil, a sponge, a brush...
What tool would you use to work with these colors?
Whatever you choose, we are sure that the result will be amazing!
These colors are by far our favorite!
So that's it for this week!
Have fun and create!
Artistic kisses!
