The Jacquard Screen Printing Ink line is designed for artists seeking professional, consistent results with ease. The Black ink is rich, opaque, and stable, spreading smoothly across a wide range of surfaces — perfect for screen printing, monoprinting, block printing, and relief printing.

It dries to a semi-gloss, flexible finish that won’t crack, and its water-based formulation provides excellent coverage and extended open time. Suitable for fabric, paper, wood, leather, and even non-porous surfaces like vinyl and metal, it produces durable, permanent prints once heat-set.

This water-based formula contains less water than comparable inks, ensuring a higher pigment-to-medium ratio and superior coverage. It does not bleed through fabric fibers or cause paper to warp, and it remains archival and lightfast, making it ideal for fine art printing and textile applications.

The ink features an extended open time, allowing for longer working sessions, and once heat-set, it becomes washfast and permanent on fabric. Safe, low-odor, and solvent-free — perfect for studios, classrooms, and workshops.

Jacquard Professional Screen Inks are water-based screen printing inks designed to deliver clean prints, strong color and reliable results on fabric and paper. Their formulation offers excellent coverage, good control and consistent performance across both artistic and professional printmaking applications.

🔹 Before You Start

Stir the ink thoroughly before use to ensure the pigment is fully mixed.
If a looser consistency or extended working time is required, the ink can be thinned sparingly with water or with a Colorless Extender.

These inks are water-based and can be cleaned up with water while still wet.

🖨️ Printing / Application

Jacquard Professional Screen Inks are formulated for screen printing and also perform very well in:

  • monoprinting
  • block printing
  • relief printing

They provide opaque, clean color with minimal bleeding and do not oversaturate fibers. Thin papers remain flat, making these inks suitable for posters, art prints and graphic work.

For dark fabrics, using a white underbase will significantly improve color brightness and clarity.

🔥 Drying & Heat Setting

The ink will dry to the touch, but to become permanent on fabric, heat setting is required.

  • Temperature: 150–160°C (300–320°F)
  • Time: 3–5 minutes, depending on ink thickness

Once properly heat set, the print becomes:

  • waterproof
  • flexible
  • durable for wear and washing

🧼 Cleanup

Clean screens and tools with water while the ink is still wet.
Avoid allowing ink to dry in the mesh, as dried ink is more difficult to remove.

💡 Helpful Tips

  • For transparent effects, layering or softer tones, use a Colorless Extender.
  • For clean results on paper, apply a thinner ink layer with consistent pressure.
  • Once cured, the ink remains flexible, making it ideal for garments and textile projects.
