Let's make an inspirational card that stands out using the "tunnel" technique. You won't believe how easy it can be!
"Tunnel" books appeared around the 15th century and look like our contemporary 3D books. Their pages feature "holes" or "windows" that allow the reader to see something that is happening further back in the book. Thus through a successive series of windows and images on each of the pages of the tunnel, a three-dimensional image is formed that tells the story.
Very often these books are folded with the accordion binding method, i.e. their pages form tri-folds, quadri-folds, and so on. They can be also formed after paper cutting. There, we take a regular book and make holes in various shapes and add images.
Today we will make a card that will form a tri-fold tunnel. We will use the Aperture Gemini Dies by Crafter Companion, but if you don't have them, that's okay. You will be able to watch the tutorial and create your windows with a ruler and a craft knife.
The technique is easy, any level crafter can do it, and it can be applied to mini albums, book covers, layouts, boxes, the options are endless!
Now it's your turn! Keep calm and stay creative!
