A tried-and-true classic that’s been dyeing your goods new and old for over 100 years. Rit All-Purpose Dye is here to add a bit of dazzle to natural fabrics like cotton, wool, and silk, as well as synthetics like nylon and rayon. A simple, non-toxic way to bring the color of your choice to garments, household items, and more.

This versatile, easy-to-use and non-toxic dye is ready to deliver vibrant color to almost any type of fabric or fabric blend. Perfect for rejuvenating faded clothing, changing the color of apparel, shoes or accessories, coordinating home décor, hiding laundry accidents and so much more. If the material you are dyeing containts more that 35% synthetic (like polyester, acetat, acrylic etc) use Rit DyeMore Synthetic Fiber instead.

Ideal for tie-dye techniques.

💡 Tips:

Works best on white fabric. If you want to change the color of a dyed fabric, see more tips here.
If the fabric has a design or stamp, the colors of the stamp will change depending on the dye you are using. For example on a white t-shirt with a pink stamp, the blue dye will make the stamp come out purple (pink + blue = purple).
For clorine or sun stains, for best results use Rit Color Remover first.

Please Note:- We personally recommend the RIT LIQUID Dyes, as they have much better coverage and colouring than these powder dyes. Use the powder dyes with this in mind. See our other listings for liquid dyes.

One package dyes 1lb dry weight or about 3 yards medium weight fabric.

For most washable fabrics. Not recommended for 100% polyester, acrylic, acetate, fibreglass or metallic fibers, or fabrics with special finishes, rubber backing, washable only in cold water or labelled Dry Clean Only.

Use Rit Colour Remover to lighten the original fabric colour as much as possible before dyeing to a lighter or different colour

Double the amount of dye for bright or dark colours. Add 1 cup salt for cotton, 1 cup vinegar for nylon, silk and wool.
