The Mini Foundry 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder by Sizzix, designed by Tim Holtz, is a small-format embossing folder that creates a deep three-dimensional texture. It belongs to the Texture Fades range, known for bold, multi-level embossed effects that turn a simple piece of paper into a surface with real dimension and character.
The Mini Foundry design has a strong industrial look: it suggests metal plates, mechanical details, old factory surfaces, steampunk accents and grungy backgrounds. It is ideal for masculine cards, Halloween projects, steampunk compositions, mixed media tags, art journal pages and any project that needs strong texture instead of simple patterned paper.
Use it with cardstock, paper, metallic foil or vellum. On black cardstock with metallic wax, it creates an aged iron effect; on kraft with brown and orange inks, it can suggest rust; and on metallic foil, it gives a dramatic mechanical shine. For a deeper 3D result, lightly mist the material with water before embossing and let it dry before adding colour, inks or wax.
