Today, we'll give you some simple ideas on how to add color to your stamps! Adding color undoubtedly gives a very different touch to your creations and can also be a lot of fun, almost therapeutic 😊.
Markers
One of the easiest and quickest options is to color your stamps with markers. Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend, are alcohol-based markers and an ideal choice for sure! Each marker has 3 tonal shades (light, medium, dark) that blend perfectly together to create flawless, realistic depth and dimension in your work. When using alcohol-based markers, don't forget that the ink for your stamp is very important. Archival inks are water-based but dry quickly and are perfect for use with alcohol markers. If you love the watercolor effect in your crafts, there's one solution! Try watercolors markers , Spectrum Noir, Ecoline, Promarker or Studio Light. Again, combine them with Archival inks😉.
Watercolors or Watercolor Pencils
A fun option is to color your stamps with watercolors. All you have to do is practice a bit and you will achieve the desired results! Try using watercolor pencils or traditional watercolors 😉.
Tips:- You will need waterproof ink; Once more, Archival is your best choice.
- You will need brushes or a water brush.
- Watercolor paper.
- After coloring your stamp, "dry" it with a heat gun.
Distress Inks
Another excellent option is to color your stamps with distress inks! Sometimes we forget that we can use them with other techniques apart from just stamping 😋.
Tips:
- You will need an acrylic block. Rub the distress ink on it and spray a little water.
- The best ink to stamp something that will be colored with distress is a waterproof ink: archival or stazon are ideal.
- If you want to create shadows and depth in your stamp, use two inks of the same color but in different shades.
- Remember that a thick paper is needed, preferably a watercolor paper.
So that's all for today!
Until next time
Artistic kisses!
