Today, we’ll show a 100% Christmas craft you can create with your little angels! Your kids will just adore them and can offer them as presents to their teachers, neighbors, family and friends ...
You can use them as pots, putting a winter plant or flower, or even as a wrapper for your Christmas goodies and chocolates!
Our list includes:
- terracotta pots
- acrylics
- brushes
- mod podge
- paper tape
Here are the instructions on how to paint these Christmas sceneries and we will show you step by step how to transform them into awesome Christmas presents!
Extra tip: we all know that children get bored easily, so we suggest you do a pre-work, painting your pots with the base you prefer, depending of course on your theme so that children will add only the fun details ...
To create the snowman, we begin by painting the pot white. Then, we paint the upper lip black for the snowman's hat ...
We also paint the inside of the pot black, it looks much nicer when it is empty.
We leave the white color dry completely and only then we add black eyes and mouth and of course the orange nose!
For Santa Claus now, we paint the whole bottom red and the lip white again. Once more, we paint the interior black. Then, with the help of paper tape, we 'create' the Santa Claus’ belt. We paint it black and only when we are sure that it has dried completely, we remove the paper tape.
Then we paint his fur white, in the center of his costume. At this part, we add more color so as to give the feeling of soft fur. You can add a little glitter to the color or use Aleene's glitter snow!
Finally, we add the gold buckle to the belt to complete the look!
Last but not least, we have the gingerbread house. This is addressed to older children due to its many drawing details ...
We start by drawing our theme with a pencil. And then, with a thinner brush, we start painting. Of course, you can also use Posca markers if you are a marker fan!
When you finish, let them dry well, and then we suggest you apply a layer of Mod Podge to protect them.
This will not only keep the color permanent but will give your pot a glow, making your creation look more 'complete'.
Now, either you will put a small plant, or you will fill transparent bags with candies, cookies, even a small gift! It depends on the size of your pot of course! 😉
Isn’t it absolutely adorable? We hope you like this creation 😊. We certainly do! Try it with your kids or on your own and enjoy the holidays!
Until next time
