According to our tradition, on Holly Thursday we dye our eggs red, which symbolizes Jesus’ blood.
This year we will try something different, a little more creative, and definitely more fun, especially for our little crafters!
Shall we start?
1. With olive oil and pastry colors!
Fill to 1/3 water, add 6-8 drops of food coloring, add 1 tbsp of olive oil. Dip your egg and leave it for 10'. Turn it over and leave it for another 5-10'. Take it out and place it on kitchen paper to "dry" for a few minutes. Finally, wipe it with a paper towel and voila!
2. With rubber bands
Wrap your eggs with rubber bands, (this will take some time so, you need to be patient!) and combine different sizes. Paint them with the usual paint for eggs found in market stores. Let them dry completely and only then remove the rubber bands.
3. With acrylics and a brush but preferably... outdoors!
Ideally, we prepare them outdoors, because this technique is rather ... messy ...but undoubtfully so much fun! Grab some acrylics and a brush and let's go! Let the images "speak" for themselves...
4. A napkin and a tie-dye kit
Let's start by spraying or moist the napkin or kitchen paper with vinegar, to retain the color. Wrap your eggs with this paper, the more "crumpled", the better!
And now, having your hands and working surface safe, let the color game begin!
You will leave your eggs for 2 hours and then you can remove the napkin.
