Jacquard Damar Resin is harvested from East-Indies trees and supplied as natural crystalline resin. It melts easily and integrates seamlessly into wax or mixed-media mediums.
In encaustic, damar resin is added to beeswax to raise the melting point, increase hardness, and produce a more durable, archival surface.
It also serves as a base for varnishes, glazing mediums, cold-wax painting, or mixed-media layers, offering a clean, transparent and subtly glossy finish.
For best results, the resin is melted in a well-ventilated area and, if needed, strained to remove impurities. It is fully compatible with pigments, wax mediums, and traditional encaustic techniques.
