Jacquard Damar Resin is harvested from East-Indies trees and supplied as natural crystalline resin. It melts easily and integrates seamlessly into wax or mixed-media mediums.

In encaustic, damar resin is added to beeswax to raise the melting point, increase hardness, and produce a more durable, archival surface.
It also serves as a base for varnishes, glazing mediums, cold-wax painting, or mixed-media layers, offering a clean, transparent and subtly glossy finish.

For best results, the resin is melted in a well-ventilated area and, if needed, strained to remove impurities. It is fully compatible with pigments, wax mediums, and traditional encaustic techniques.

👉 Features:

  • Natural crystalline damar resin
  • Ideal for encaustic medium (beeswax + damar)
  • Increases melting temperature → more durable surface
  • Excellent for cold-wax painting, varnishes & clear mediums
  • Adds transparency, luminosity & stability
  • Compatible with pigments & paint mediums
  • Size: 8 oz (approx. 230 g)

Inspiration Tip: Melt beeswax with damar resin, strain it, and mix in pigments to create your own archival encaustic medium with a warm, natural sheen.
