Speedball's proud heritage for pen-making began in 1899. Since that time, the Speedball name has become synonymous with the manufacture of high-quality calligraphy and illustration tools, inks, and papers, each designed to maximize your writing experience and your budget.

This set of nibs and pen holders is ideal for cartoonists and artists looking to create fine lines, lithography, cross-hatching, alphabets, and uniform line drawings.

Included in the set are:

  • two pen holders,
  • six nibs (styles B1, B3, B5, B6, 100, and 512),

Made in the USA.

For Best Results:

To load the pen with ink, carefully tip the point deep enough into the ink to fill the pen reservoir. Wipe the underside of the point on the ink bottle to remove excess ink. Clean the pen point with pen cleaner fluid or hot water after every use.

Moving the Pen:

When writing calligraphy, never change the position of your hand, wrist, and fingers. Make the stroke by moving your entire arm from your shoulder down and keeping your wrist, hands, and fingers fixed in place. The only exception to this rule is when you write very small letters (roughly 1/2'' tall or less). In this case, you'll need to form the letters carefully with your fingers. Keep your nib at the proper angle (45°). The pen angle will create thick and thin strokes. For a more heavily slanted letter, you must slant your pen at a 50° to 55° baseline angle.
