It is almost summer, and the sun is shining brightly!
We will need:
- White fabric, which can be a tablecloth, a t-shirt, a bag, or even scraps of fabric for use in your art journal!
- Jacquard’s Dye-Na-Flow colors
- A set of sponge brushes
- A basin or bucket of water
- A plastic tablecloth or other protective cover for your workspace
- Stencils, leaves, and anything else you’d like to use to create your design!
In the next step, you need to dip your fabric into a water basin. Make sure it’s well-soaked, then lay it out on your surface, stretching it out smoothly. If you’re working with more than one piece of fabric, it’s best not to spread them all at once, as we want them to remain damp before moving on to the color.
And the fun part begins!
Add color...
...and extra water with the help of your sponge! You can continue adding color and spreading it with the damp sponge until you’re satisfied with the result!
Once you’re done with the color, it’s time to place your stencil.
Here, it’s important to note that, as shown in the photo, first, the fabric is still quite damp, and second, we don't just place the stencil on the fabric but press it down firmly to ensure there’s no gap between the fabric and the stencil.
Continue with the same approach for the remaining fabric pieces and let the sun do its magic!
2-3 hours are enough for the fabric to dry thoroughly if it’s under the sun!
Remove your stencils and admire the result...
Finally, the next day, iron the fabric backyards and you're redy!
