Today we're going to present some simple ideas on how to add color to your stamps! Undoubtedly, adding color gives a very different touch to your crafts and the whole procedure can also be very funny, kind of art therapy 😊
Markers
Coloring your stamps with markers can be an extremely fast and fun process! Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend alcohol markers are perfect! Each marker has 3 tonal shades (light, medium, dark) that blend perfectly together and give flawless, realistic depth and dimension to your projects.
When using alcohol markers, do nοt forget how important it is to choose the right ink for your stamp. Archival inks are water-based but dry quickly and are ideal for use with alcohol markers.
If you love watercolor effects, Spectrum Noir Aqua is the solution. And in this case, choose Archival ink as well 😉.
Watercolor or watercolor pencils?
A fun option is to color your stamps with watercolors. All you need is perhaps a little practice to achieve the desired results. Try with watercolor pencils or watercolors in their traditional form 😉
Tips:
You will need:
- waterproof ink, Archival is again your best choice.
- brushes or a water brush
- watercolor paper
- after coloring your stamp, you can "dry" it with a heat gun.
Distress
Another great option is to color your stamps with distress inks! Sometimes we forget that we can use them for more than just sealing 😋
Tips:
- you will need an acrylic block. Rub the distress over it and spray some water.
- the best ink to stamp something that will be distressed is a waterproof ink: archival or stazon
it's up to you!
- if you want to create shadows and depth on your stamp, use two inks of the same color but in different shades.
- remember that the ideal paper is a thick paper, preferably watercolor paper.
So that's it for today!
Until next week,
Artistic kisses!
